“The Taos Hum” and Beyond
Just a quick, mid-month update.
The Taos Hum…
- All of the text laid out and Fal is working on the art for it. Once art and maps come back, Badger will get those placed and it will be sent off to Chaosium for their final approval.
- We’ve launched an internal investigation into the rumor that a draft of the manuscript was leaked to Diamond-level Patrons. As everyone knows, the spreading of Mythos Information is prohibited by Article 1, Section 5, Clause 2 of the R’lyehian Edicts: “no person(s) may knowingly infect others with dreadful knowledge…”
…and Beyond
- The Landscapes of the Lost Soul was chosen by our Silver+ Patrons as the next book. Writing is done, editing is nearly there (just reworking one final section), and then it’ll be over to Badger within the week.
- The next Silver+ Patron poll will be held on June 1, to select which Call of Cthulhu scenario we work on next.
As always, any questions, concerns, or information on the source of the aforementioned Madness Breach is appreciated. Because if there was a breach, we will need to make some sacrifices.
Thank you,
Stygian Fox

The Things That Matter
If you’re a Stygian Fox Patron (thank you!), you probably have the 5 titles that we’ve contributed to this bundle. They are The Things We Leave Behind, Never Meet Again, The Thirteen, Autophagia, and Station S. But that’s not why we’re sharing this. We’re sharing this for the same reason we choose to contribute to the bundle:
We are a trans woman-founded, LGBTQIA+ friendly RPG publisher. These things matter to us. A lot.
For anyone who doesn’t know what’s up with Texas right now, the governor issued a directive two weeks back requiring doctors, nurses, and the like to report gender-affirming care for minors. Failure to do so could result in criminal penalties for those medical professionals, while doing so could result in criminal penalties for those children’s parents (as they may be arrested and prosecuted for child abuse). This is wrong. This is harmful.
And that’s why we’re asking, even if you already have the above-mentioned titles from us, click the link… there are 300 creators who contributed to the bundle that you can pick up for only $5. If you can’t buy it or don’t think any of the 493 titles in it would interest you, specifically, consider sharing the link (https://itch.io/b/1308/ttrpgs-for-trans-rights-in-texas) – it could mean the world to someone.
Thank you for reading.
Sneak Peek – “The Night Mother’s Moon”
Life on the streets is hard. The Homeless are invisible. New York City has almost one hundred thousand homeless. Each night they sleep in the city’s parks and subway system, invisible to the population who passes them every day. What better victims could one ask for?
This scenario is designed for 2–4 investigators and can be completed in one to two evenings of play, depending on the length of your sessions. In it, the players take on the roles of New York city’s street homeless as they come together to solve the mystery of something that is stalking and killing the members of their community.
When a relative newcomer to the streets turns up dead in a dumpster, her death is chalked up to just another example of street violence. The local homeless know better. Something is stalking them. Something no one has an explanation for. With nowhere else to turn, they must band together and save themselves before they become just another statistic.
