Life on the streets is hard. The Homeless are invisible. New York City has almost one hundred thousand homeless. Each night they sleep in the city’s parks and subway system, invisible to the population who passes them every day. What better victims could one ask for?
This scenario is designed for 2–4 investigators and can be completed in one to two evenings of play, depending on the length of your sessions. In it, the players take on the roles of New York city’s street homeless as they come together to solve the mystery of something that is stalking and killing the members of their community.
When a relative newcomer to the streets turns up dead in a dumpster, her death is chalked up to just another example of street violence. The local homeless know better. Something is stalking them. Something no one has an explanation for. With nowhere else to turn, they must band together and save themselves before they become just another statistic.
Christian Grundel’s The Night Mother’s Moon should be sent off to Chaosium within the week for their final approval of the PDF. As soon as it is approved, a copy of it will be made available for all of you! Hooray!
Please, correct me if I am wrong, but…I believe The Night Mother’s Moon covers the December 2021 Billing Cycle, meaning we’re all caught up on that front (so long as we keep pausing Patreon every month)? (We released The Book of Nonterraqueos in December, but that covered the slip up in October when we didn’t pause things.) So I ‘think’ we’re good…I’ll dig more into it next week to confirm that though if no one knows off the top of their head.
So where do we go from here? Glynn Owen Barrass’s The Taos Hum is in Layout, so that’s next on the list, with several scenarios patiently waiting for once that one is out. I’ll share a peek of that one once TNMM is released. As for a timeline, I don’t know. We need to get a backlog built up, honestly…and I’m talking laid out, with everything done, and already approved by Chaosium. Until that time, it’s not going to be monthly, so we’ll keep things paused on Patreon other than the months that will see a release (and we’ll let everyone know a month ahead of time, with a sneak peek, that the following month, on the 1st, Patreon won’t be paused, so if anyone wants to drop things before then, they can. Trying to limit the surprises for everyone). And if you’re reading this and aren’t a Patron yet, feel free to back today (right now!) as you’ll end up with access to…well, something like 20 scenarios!
I think that’s really it for a general update. I’ve responded to any messages people have sent via Patreon already, and gotten the POD (at cost) codes emailed out to Diamond Patrons. Next up is seeing where things are at with the NPCs that Gold and Diamond Patrons are entitled to and then focusing on Silver and Bronze after that. In the meantime though, if there is anything anyone needs, please let us know.
Thank you, and sorry it’s been so long,
