Hudson & Brand, Inquiry Agents of the Obscure (coming soon)

August 11, 2017 by stygian fox

Hudson & Brand: Inquiry Agents of the Obscure is the first in our ‘Safe House’ series where players of the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game (published by Chaosium, Inc), have a home-base for their Cthulhu by Gaslight characters to work out of. At hand, they will have resources, a gun range, a collection of monographs on various subjects, a small library, three members of staff, and property consisting of offices and lodgings in the very heart of Victorian London.

The book will also contain numerous case files written by Hudson & Brand (both of whom are now missing), NPCs, plans, scenario seeds, and an adventure. It is edited by Matthew Pook and written by Robert Grayston & Stephanie McAlea. Art is by Jon Gibbons, Guillaume Tavernier, and Stephanie McAlea, along with numerous period photographs and images.

Taking its inspirational cues from Sherlock Holmes, Ripper Street, Auguste Dupin, The Suspicions of Mr Whicher, and The Incendiary’s Trail, the book takes a mature look at the horror of Mythos machinations and the many dark corners in the seat of empire.

The Things We Leave Behind

The Things We Leave Behind is an anthology of 6 modern day scenarios for the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game published by Chaosium, Inc, edited by Jeff Moeller, and written by Brian M. Sammons, Scott Dorward, Simon Brake, Oscar Rios, and Jeff Moeller with art by Davide Como, Badger McInnes, Dean Engelhardt, and Stephanie McAlea.

We are proud to announce that The Things We Leave Behind has been nominated for an ENnie Award in two categories, best adventure and best electronic product!

Taking its inspirational cues from Delta Green, Fargo, Blood Simple, and True Detective, the book takes a mature look at the horror of human nature and its ability to be just as disturbing as anything from the Mythos.

The scenarios deal with unavoidable fates, dark secrets, and seriously bad choices made by the antagonists. As so often is the case, there are no winners when fate has trapped you in a dice game for doom or destiny. As such, please be aware that some of the themes are quite mature and are suitable for adult gamers only.
